The very existence of literature reciprocates with the idea of Humanism. In the era plagued by global crises such as social, cultural & political unrest, displacement and war, humanism poses itself as the only effective tool that literature embraces as the skin. The urge for humanism has never been so desperate and intense as against the dismal picture of the fall of socio-cultural canvas in the present times. Only literature embedded with a humanistic approach with core can revive the present adverse circumstances towards a peace-loving world. Only humanism could lead us towards life and co-existence. This book has been written with the aim of exploring how the concept of humanism, shaped by the four principles of freedom, equality, fraternity and social justice has been expressed in literature. Hopefully this valuable document will be useful to scholars.
